The sun doesn't break across Christina's eyes like it usually does. It doesn't make her squint and groan and roll over. The house doesn't smell like Dad's morning coffee, and there's no sound of the shower running to coax her out of her dreams. No – there's silence. Smooth, almost silky sheets. The air is cooler than it should be – almost chilly. Reaching down to snag the blankets, Christina tugs them up over her shoulders. She digs her way further under the covers, reaching out for the other pillow to drag up near her face.

Instead of a pillow, she finds Pierce's shoulder. Her fingers pull away at first, that's not supposed to be there! But then she remembers, and the previous evening floods into her consciousness. She's in his hotel suite. She's here because he came to her house and waited for her to call. Because he came to New York specifically to find her, to talk to her... to let her know he's not the lying asshole she thinks. Her hand splays against the warm bulk of Pierce's shoulder, then she smiles to herself a bit as she lets that hand slide down over his chest, across the steady thump of his heart. She feels his chest hair, crinkly and soft beneath her fingertips. He murmurs softly as she presses her fingertips through the dense softness that grows across his sternum.

Christina stretches out under the rich fabric of unreasonably expensive sheets. She keeps her eyes closed as she focuses on the sensations, the crisp kiss of the bedclothes against her toes, the way her legs ache so exquisitely as her muscles contract and relax. She lets her arm drape over the still-sleeping man beside her. Rooting closer to him, she lets her face nuzzle in against his bicep, and she smiles to herself. Kiss now, talk later, he said. We still haven't talked, but oh god. I want more kisses.

Still moving without sight, she scoots up on the bed so her face is pressed in against Pierce's neck. He groans sleepily, turning over to reach out and snake an arm over her middle. His strength is evident as he pulls her towards himself, and she momentarily considers just snuggling in and letting sleep take her again. He's so warm, he smells like sex, like her. Sighing, she enjoys the embrace for a few moments, but as sleep tries to claim her again, Christina pulls out of the hug and leans up on one elbow, finally opening her eyes.

The bedroom is draped in shadows. She can see slivers of light peering in around the shades that are still drawn closed over the floor-to-ceiling windows. It's bright outside, but it's dim in here. She lets her eyes adjust to being awake, then looks over at Pierce's sleeping figure. He's rolled onto his back again, and he has the covers shoved down to his waist. The leg opposite her is kicked free of the sheets, and his arm is resting over his naked stomach.
